Man City Star Open To Exit, Club 'Shocked'

Manchester City have reportedly been left "shocked" to learn that one of their longest-serving players could be open to leaving the club ahead of the coming transfer window.

Since joining the Citizens from Benfica in 2017, Brazilian goalkeeper Ederson has amassed an impressive 332 appearances for the side.

The 30-year-old sweeper-keeper has been integral to Pep Guardiola's system in England, but is now reportedly "considering his options" after initial contract discussions.

HITC claims City have been left stunned after they made it clear in February that they were eager to extend his stay in Manchester, with his current deal expiring in 2026.

The publication reports that, via his representatives, news has emerged that Ederson is "not ready" to commit to new terms at the Premier League champions.

It has since been said that the Citizens would consider his sale if they receive an offer they deem appropriate amid apparent interest from clubs in Saudi Arabia.

Ederson's potential departure opens up the door for Stefan Ortega to become City's No. 1.

The 31-year-old German has been praised time and time again by Guardiola whenever he has been called upon to deputise for Ederson.
