The story

It was a weekend filled with ecstasy for the Nedbank Cup and UEFA Champions League winners, while the losers were engulfed in agony.

Orlando Pirates secured their second-successive Nedbank Cup crown following a last-gasp 2-1 win over Mamelodi Sundowns at the Mbombela Stadium, while Real Madrid wrapped up their 15th UEFA Champions League (UCL) trophy with a 2-0 win over a valiant Borussia Dortmund side.

In both games, mercurial ballers Relebohile Mofokeng, Vinicius Jr and Lucas Ribeiro Costa all stood out for leaving defenders for dead with supreme dribbling abilities.

Mofokeng's shibobo on Bongani Zungu in the build-up to his matchwinner was the standout, a goal and piece of skill that will live long in the memories of not only Pirates fans but South African footballers as a whole.

In the same encounter, Lucas Ribeiro Costa helped orchestrate Sundowns' goal by creatively doing away with Innocent Maela and providing the pass that led to Themba Zwane's goal.

Vinicius Jr put the nail in the coffin on Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League final at Wembley Stadium, scoring the second and final goal to help Los Blancos with their fifth UCL crown since 2015.

In the second-half, the Brazilian flyer was being afforded more space than he was in the first stanza, with Julian Ryerson being on the receiving end of a devastating nutmeg:
