Since he began putting in quality performances for his loan side Getafe, Greenwood is believed to have garnered even more attention from Spain's bigger sides.
Barcelona and Atletico Madrid are all said to have expressed an interest in signing the forward at the end of the season, but in the case of the former, rumours have gathered even more momentum.
Speculation has been fueled by the fact that United sporting director John Murtough and negotiator Matt Hargreaves were seen in Madrid earlier this week speaking Barca sporting director Deco, but according to The Times, the Blaugrana are not sure about signing the Bradford native for public relations reasons.
Greenwood was charged with attempted rape, coercive behaviour and actual bodily harm at the beginning of 2022, which consequently led him missing the entire 2022/23 campaign as the case unfolded.
Ultimately, the charges were dropped in February 2023 after the withdrawal of key witnesses and the attacker was free to resume his football career.

The same report claims that Barca are worried that buying such a player will strain their relationship with the Culers, as well as compromise their chances of attracting sponsors, but it also states that the 22-year-old's reception in Spain is not as hostile as it is in England.
