Alves, 40, was arrested in January 2023 and has been kept in custody after he was accused of rape by a woman in December of 2022.
While he maintained his innocence throughout the trial, he has been told he will be spending time in prison for his actions by Catalonia's top court.
The accuser alleged the former Paris Saint-Germain and Juventus fullback assaulted her in a nightclub in Barcelona. At the time, he was still on the books of UNAM Pumas in Mexico, who later terminated his contract.
Alves has also been ordered to pay €150 000 (R3 million) to the victim, as per Sky Sports.
