According to London-based market research firm GlobalData, African football's governing body is expected to generate a substantial inflow of revenue amounting to $75 million (R1.4 billion).

In terms of the football on show, the competition is being regarded by many as one of the best tournaments ever to be held in AFCON history, and not only was it a success on the pitch, but CAF as an institution also managed to lure in a plethora of commercial partners before it started.

TotalEnergies, a high-profile sponsor across all of CAF's competitions, along with 1XBet, Orange, PUMA, Visa, Unilever, and 11 other companies agreed to have their branding appear during the continental spectacle.

Couple this with the major international broadcasters it reached agreements with, such as SkySport, BBC, LaLiga+, SportItalia, Sport Digital and Band TV, to televise the tournament and CAF has seemingly diversified its partnerships on a large scale.

As such, CAF is expecting to see a significant increase in broadcasting revenues, and this will likely help assist with the development and growth of football in Africa.

According to Vanguard, CAF's overall revenue reached $103.6 million (R1.9 billion) during the 2021/22 fiscal year, but with the 2023 AFCON expected to generate $75 million alone, it is likely we will see a significant increase in the organisation's next financial reports.
