Word reaching this publication is that Kaizer Chiefs are yet to make an offer to keep defender Njabulo Ngcobo.
With a little under six months left on his deal with the Soweto giants, the burly player will probably be a bit concerned about his future. The former Swallows FC (now Moroka Swallows) man is eligible to pen a pre-contract with any club that shows an interest in his services, but Soccer Laduma understands that he will give his current team first preference before looking at the possibility of signing on the dotted line elsewhere.
The 29-year-old will be hoping for a more regular run in the second half of the season to enhance his chances of convincing management to hand him a new deal. While Molefi Ntseki was still in charge, Ngcobo was getting some minutes in the starting line-up, but it hasn't been the same story with Cavin Johnson, who's the interim coach.
In the seven matches Johnson has been in charge of, the former PSL Defender of the Season has made four appearances, starting just once.
In total, he has made 10 appearances in all competitions and he will be aware of the fact that he has to fight harder in the second half of the campaign to get into the team and possibly earn a new contract. AmaZulu FC are understood to be interested in his services and could look to pounce on a pre-contract with an offer that is too good for the versatile star to resist.
