Johnson Highlights One Issue With Chiefs' Victory

Kaizer Chiefs interim coach Cavin Johnson highlighted one issue with his side's win over Polokwane City on Saturday afternoon.

Pule Mmodi's lovely finish in the second half guided the Soweto giants to a 1-0 win at the Peter Mokaba Stadium.

For the second game in a row, Johnson was not pleased with how the side were unable to keep possession against Rise and Shine.

"What a game of football, I thought my team defended well, yes we scored the goal but we had to fight for it. I don't think they had clear chances but they threatened us all the time with the long ball," Johnson told SuperSport after the game.

"That is what this team is all about, they play the long ball and off the second ball. "

You don't clear the long ball correctly, they can come from behind and for sure they gave us a lot of problems because in a lot of moments we were not able to play our game, where we're calmer on the ball.

"I also thought we gave the ball away too easy when we had the ball. Our centre-back, our left-back, our right-back tried to make the champagne pass when we had to keep the ball.

"Keep the ball a little longer the spaces will open but in saying that, ja we win the game, we go away with three points and we're happy for that," he said.

Chiefs will have to wait another couple weeks for their next league clash against Richards Bay on 23 December.
