Pirates & Sundowns Compete For AmaZulu Attacker?

AmaZulu FC could lose one of their standout players to Orlando Pirates or Mamelodi Sundowns, the Siya crew has been informed.

Siya sources have indicated that Usuthu's attacker Tshepang Moremi is the player possibly attracting interest at the Gauteng giants with the January transfer window closing in.

The source added that both clubs may have inquired about the AmaZulu youth product who last season was plying his trade in the Motsepe Foundation Championship with JDR Stars.

"You know the boy was on loan last season after graduating from the (AmaZulu) reserves. When the club saw his progress they brought him back at the start of the season. But the way things are going I don't think he will stay for a long time," said the Siya source.

"Yes, two clubs have inquired about him. I know it's Pirates and Sundowns but at the moment I can't say who is in the forefront and who started the inquiry. But both have shown seriousness in the matter.

"Apparently the club is also willing to listen to offers if there is any as this is business. I will talk to you in January and see whether it's for this window period or for the end of the season," the source told Soccer Laduma.

A second Siya source stated that Pirates may be looking at strengthening their wing department and that's why they are inquiring about Moremi.

"From what I know Pirates started inquiring last season when he was at JDR Stars but they were told he is an AmaZulu player and they are reportedly said to have backed off a bit," said the second Siya source.

"But after seeing him in action for AmaZulu this season they have renewed their interest and made inquiries. So, there is a second team and I believe it's Mamelodi Sundowns. I can't certainly say where he could end up at but obviously it works with the player's desire and the highest offer, you know," the source observed.

The 23-year-old Moremi has been one of the most consistent players for Usuthu this season. Soccer Laduma contacted all the clubs concerned for comment but no response was received while preparing this story.
