Chiefs Make Contact For New Winger?

Kaizer Chiefs are believed to have taken the next step after registering an interest in a Richards Bay winger, the Siya crew has been informed.

Soccer Laduma had previously reported on Amakhosi looking at Sanele Barns, and now Siya sources have indicated that the club could have made official contact with the Natal Rich Boyz for the player.

Sources have added that the talks between the two clubs may be ongoing and this includes all the concerned parties.

"You see the difference now is that Chiefs have actually made contact with Richards Bay. At first it was just interest from them," said the Siya source.

"So, now that they have made it official then maybe something will happen. Let's wait for the next transfer window in January and see what happens then.

"But yeah, the two teams are in talks concerning Sanele (Barns)."

A second Siya source added that Richards Bay may want a player from Amakhosi in exchange for Barns and that's what could delay the move.

"Even at first when Chiefs were interested in him, Richards Bay inquired about Sabelo Radebe and then Chiefs striker Caleb Bimenyimana. So, now I am not sure which players they are interested in to exchange for Sanele," said the second source.

"Let's wait for the talks to be finished and that's when we can hear and know which Chiefs player would be involved in the exchange in this deal," the source told Soccer Laduma.

The Siya crew contacted both clubs for comment but no response was received while preparing this story.
