'Divisions' At Zamalek Over Mosimane Pursuit

'Divisions' At Zamalek Over Mosimane Pursuit

With Pitso Mosimane currently without a club, there are reported "divisions" at Egyptian giants Zamalek over the club's apparent interest in the South African tactician.

According to Egyptian publication Veto Gate, it still remains unknown as to whether or not the White Castle will pursue a move for the former Mamelodi Sundowns manager after they decided to dismiss Juan Carlos Osorio.

Zamalek have been strongly linked with Mosimane in recent weeks, even before he left Al Wahda by mutual consent on Friday afternoon, although all eyes will now be on the club after the ex-DStv Premiership coach became available.

The latest news suggests, however, board officials at the Egyptian giants hold opposing views over Mosimane. While some believe his knowledge of the Egyptian Premier League and African football would benefit Zamalek, others feel it would not be smart to appoint a former Al Ahly manager.

It is said Zamalek and their long-time rivals Al Ahly are currently enjoying a good relationship, and that moving for the 59-year-old could spoil that.

There are, however, concerns that moving for a manager without Mosimane's experience in the country could harm their chances of enjoying a successful campaign.

Another tactician reportedly in contention for the vacant role at Zamalek is Petro de Luanda's Alexandre Santos, although other CVs are also believed to be being studied by the African giants.
