Chiefs Shutout: ‘That’s What Fans Deserve’

Kaizer Chiefs will be playing their home match tonight without fans as per their punishment from the league, and former defender Isaac Mabotsa has commented, speaking exclusively to the Siya crew.

Amakhosi will be at FNB Stadium to welcome Cape Town Spurs in search of their fourth league win of the season but will be without the fans to back them after the PSL's punishment to play behind closed doors due to spectator misbehaviour in some of the previous matches.

"Obviously, it's not a good thing that the team will be playing behind closed doors. But at the same time, I think it will give the coaches and players a chance to work on things and fix what they need to fix. If the supporters were going to be there, they were going to demand results but I am not saying that what they have been doing is right. That's what they deserve," said Mabotsa.

Chiefs will hope for a morale booster by getting three points against Spurs going into the weekend's big one against archrivals Orlando Pirates.

Amakhosi lost their previous two league matches against Cape Town City and Golden Arrows respectively, as well as the Carling Knockout clash against AmaZulu.

The fixture will also be huge for Cavin Johnson to get his first victory in Amakhosi colours after losing the previous match away to Abafana Bes'thende.
