Robbie Keane, formerly a regular goalscorer in the EPL and today the manager in charge of Maccabi Tel Aviv, was in Israel on the weekend when a militant group attacked the Middle Eastern nation.

According to talkSPORT, the ex-Tottenham Hotspur man and his assistant coach, Rory Delap, took refuge in a panic room while the attacks took place, with the pair eventually fleeing to Greece successfully.

Keane took charge of Maccabi Tel Aviv earlier this year after being part of Sam Allardyce's technical team at Leeds United towards the end of last season.

The former Republic of Ireland international and Delap have impressed since joining the Israeli giants, having won four of their first five league matches in charge.

According to CNN, at least 700 people have been killed in Israel, while it is estimated that more than 400 people have died as part of Israel's response.
