Al Ahly Boss Delighted As Tau Scores Twice

Al Ahly head coach Marcel Koller has given his assessment of his side's emphatic opening Egyptian Premier League matchday win on Tuesday, giving talisman Percy Tau and his new signings massive praise.

On Tuesday, the Red Devils got their league campaign to a flying start as they secured themselves a 4-0 win over Al Masry at the Cairo International Stadium.

Off-season acquisitions Reda Slim and Emam Ashour made their first appearances in Egypt's top division for the Club of the Century and it was the former who opened the scoring for the African champions.

Tau got in on the action when played a neat one-two with Mohamed Hany before slotting the ball into the bottom corner of goal for his first. The Bafana Bafana international then added a second and Al Ahly's third, before Karim Fouad scored the team's final goal as the Egyptian juggernauts bounced back from their recent CAF Super Cup defeat to USM Alger.

"I am very happy with the four goals that we succeeded in scoring, which were scored by Reda Slim, Percy Tau and Karim Fouad," the Swiss tactician said, as per Kora Plus.

"I feel very happy with the distinctive and great pass provided by Emam Ashour to Percy Tau, from which the latter scored the third goal."

Anthony Modeste also made his first bow for the north African giants after he joined on a free transfer following his exit from Borussia Dortmund. Koller, however, insisted that the Frenchman needs time before the Ahly faithful can see the best of him.

"Anthony Modeste's last official match was about four months ago, and this is a long period without playing. He did not train with us much and he still does not know the names of the players," he added.

"I definitely see that when he is in his physical condition, he will help us a lot, and today he succeeded in making a move and could have scored."
