Siyabonga Ngezana received plenty of love online after his Man of the Match performance for FCSB, which might have prompted a new nickname. Check it out!

What's the story?

Ex-Kaizer Chiefs defender Siyabonga Ngezana received the Man of the Match (MOTM) award for FCSB (formally Steaua Bucharest), in 1-0 win over Farul.

Ngezana was showered with praise from local and international supporters on Twitter/X, with his club also suggesting a potential nickname for the former Glamour Boy.

Ngezana's potential new name

Siyabonga Ngezana wasn't the only South African athlete who had a good day against Romanians on Sunday after stellar MOTM performance for FCSB.

After enduring a slow start to life in Bucharest, the Chiefs Academy graduate is starting to find his feet and is adjusting well to his new team's system.

FCSB's Twitter/X page responded to a fan referring to Ngezana as "The Rock", suggesting a new nickname for the 26-year-old, who made only his third league appearance for the Romanian giants yesterday.

It's small moments like these that will do Ngezana's confidence the world of good, a new nickname could very well see him become a fan-favourite at his new home.

Ngezana, also known as "Sgagula" (the cleaner) by some Chiefs supporters, also received encouragement by Kaizer Motaung Jr. who referred to him as "Sesa":
