With about five strikers in the team already and still looking for an experienced option, Kaizer Chiefs are looking at loaning out youngster Wandile Duba.

The strikers already at Amakhosi include Ashley Du Preez, Christian Saile, Ranga Chivaviro and Bonfils-Caleb Bimenyimana.

Young striker Duba could be moved down to the DDC squad if there is no loan deal on the cards before the end of the registration window.

Siya sources at the club have indicated that as much as the technical team believes in the youngster, they want him to play regularly.

"He is a very good, young talented striker. But at the moment the team is looking at results more critically," the Siya source said.

"His situation is different from the midfielders. In his position goals are needed and they don't want to put him under that intense pressure at the moment and that's why they want to loan him out.

"They want him to go to a team where be will play regularly to gain experience and confidence at the same time," the source said.

A different source added that if the loan deal doesn't come through then Duba will spend most of his time with the DStv Diski Challenge squad to keep him active and fit.

"The team will make a decision on Wandile (Duba). The decision will depend on whether he finds a team to be loaned to or not.

"If no team is found he will be playing in the DDC team. He is only 19 and he can still play and gain experience from there. But the best would have been a loan even if it is to an NFD side (Motsepe Foundation Championship).

"But as I have said, the team will make a decision soon concerning Wandile," the source concluded.

The Siya crew contacted Chiefs for a comment but the club didn't respond while this story was prepared. Open a tab account, it's easy and start betting on local and international soccer now!
