Pirates x adidas x Thebe Magugu launched
Pirates' new kits, designed by Thebetsile Magugu of the Thebe Magugu luxury fashion brand, was launched at the Nelson Mandela Square in Sandton last night.
The glitzy launch saw Bucs players Innocent Maela, Thapelo Xoki, Miguel Timm and Thabiso Monyane modelling the new black home and pistachio green away kits, under their new tracksuits, which match the design of the home strip.
This collaboration with the three stripes, Thebe Magugu, and Pirates, has resulted in one of the most experimental home kits we've seen for the club in a while.
As stated by adidas on the brand's social media platforms, "The worlds of Orlando Pirates, adidas and Thebe Magugu collide to bring you a spirited kit that embodies boundless energy, perfectly primed to move with you. The intricate graphic pays tribute to the rich history of the Orlando Pirates - a legacy reminiscent of a complex maze, demanding unyielding perseverance to conquer a labyrinth of twists and turns, forging their path towards triumph."

The home and away kits stand out with a large skull and crossbones. Within it, a maze-like graphic that not only represents the club's long history but also the progressive role it played in South African society.
In a video shared by the club, Magugu explained why this was such an exciting project for him.
"It's one of the most exciting things that I've done, because not only is it aesthetically beautiful but it also summates the really inspiring journey of Orlando Pirates," said the award-winning fashion designer.
Bafana Bafana defender and club captain Innocent Maela is also a huge fan of Magugu's design.
"I love the feel of the jersey. I love the black and also the pistachio green. I love the style and design, it's so bold and brave and this is the attitude we are going with into this season," he added.
adidas also released a short video that spotlights the new Pirates threads for the upcoming season.
