Dzvukamanja’s Pirates Exit To Open Doors

Dzvukamanja’s Pirates Exit To Open Doors

The sudden exit of Terrence Dzvukamanja from Orlando Pirates could open opportunities for some of his now former teammates whose future with the club has been in doubt. The Houghton-based outfit announced on Monday that they agreed to an approach from Super-Sport United for the Zimbabwean's services even though there had been plans to include the player in coach Jose Riveiro's CAF Champions League squad for the upcoming season.

As confirmed by the club in a statement, the 29-year-old had initially approached the Soweto giants pleading to be released so he could go and play in his home country where he would be closer to home in order to deal with pressing family matters – the approach from Matsatsantsa totally blindsided Bucs!

With the player now set to reunite with his former coach Gavin Hunt, his departure could be a blessing in disguise for the likes of Souaibou Marou and Bienvenu Eva Nga, whose future has been in doubt despite currently being in camp with Bucs in Spain. With the club having so far parted ways with Ndumiso Mabena, Ntsako Makhubela, Craig Martin, Nkanyiso Zungu and Kopano Thuntsane after welcoming Patrick Maswanganyi, Melusi Buthelezi, Katlego Otladisa and Siphelo Baloni, few other tweaks could still be made to the squad before the start of the season next month, sources have indicated.

Meanwhile, Kwame Peprah is expected to leave after he was initially loaned to Maritzburg United in January, while Tshegofatso Mabasa is set to complete a switch to Moroka Swallows on loan after coming back from another loan stint with Sekhukhune United.

Riveiro and his technical team currently have the likes of Kermit Erasmus, Evidence Makgopa and Zakhele Lepasa as the other options up front.
