Chelsea have now officially confirmed the signing of a new African striker.

The Blues welcome Senegalese star Nicolas Jackson to Stamford Bridge after the west Londoners paid a reported fee of just over €35 million (R713 million) for his services.

The pacey forward is the second attacker to sign for the Premier League giants in this window, after Christopher Nkunku was unveiled as their first big-money acquisition earlier this month.
Jackson, 22, arrives from Spanish outfit Villarreal after finishing the 2022/23 LaLiga season as their top goalscorer with 12 goals.
The Gambia-born attacker joins a Chelsea side that struggled to find the back of the net last season, having scored just 38 goals in the entire Premier League campaign.
Manager Mauricio Pochettino will thus likely be hoping he can replicate his form in Spain in the English top flight.

The marksman becomes the fifth Senegalese to play for the two-time European champions after Kalidou Koulibaly, Edouard Mendy, Papy Djilobodji and Demba Ba.
