Chiefs To Face Their ‘Most Dangerous’ Opponents Yet

High flying Kaizer Chiefs are chasing their sixth consecutive win in all competitions but in order to do that, Amakhosi will have to overcome their most difficult opponent this season.

Chiefs have faced some stellar competition this season, but their upcoming match against Marumo Gallants on Saturday could be their toughest yet, according to head coach Arthur Zwane.

On paper, Chiefs are expected to cruise to victory over their bottom-placed opponents in a home fixture but speaking to the media at the club's media day, Zwane hailed the CAF Confederation Cup quarterfinalist as their most difficult match this season.

"It's very difficult because 1. You are playing against individual players that want to improve themselves and go for greener pastures. Apart from that, when you watch them play, they are a solid team. It's just unfortunate that they find themselves there, [at the bottom of the log]. They're a good team, it's just sometimes football is football," he told journalists.

"So, for the fact that they are also participating in the Confederation Cup, some of the teams there are most difficult to play against, top teams that did not qualify to be in the [CAF] Champions League, so that alone tells you that they are a good team, they are not there by fluke or mistake, they have been doing tremendously well.

"If we are to go into this game looking at where they are in the log, then that will be the biggest mistake. They are fighting for their lives, and they are more motivated than us and want it more than us right now. It's up to us to rise to the occasion, show that we want to fight for the second spot and show that we are in a better position.

"When you look at it, they come into this game as underdogs, but they are more dangerous than any other team that we've played against this season," he explained.
