This past Saturday, 50 000-plus of the Red Devils' faithful saw their team secure a resounding 3-0 triumph over Sudanese giants Al Hilal as the Club of the Century successfully progressed to the final eight of African football's premier club competition.

Mahmoud Kahraba was able to find the back of the net as Hussein El-Shahat came off the bench to bag a second-half brace as the Egyptian giants progress to the knockout stages with Masandawana from Group B.

Koller could not have been more delighted with the result as he praised the home support for the atmosphere they provided.

"I thank the Al Ahly fans. It was the first time I attended a match with this number of fans, and I didn't think it would be this magnificent. I lived beautiful times during the game, and we had to return the favour on the pitch," the Swiss tactician said, as per KingFut.

"We definitely need the fans, and any team that will face us will suffer, and I ask the officials to be happy and to facilitate the presence of these fans.

"Our goal was to qualify, even if it was with just one goal, so we wanted not to concede goals at the start, because the opponent would open their lines in order to score, and thus we would take advantage of the spaces.

"I won't change my goals with Al Ahly, but the goal now is to beat Ghazl El Mahalla, and we play each match separately."
