Fati has found himself unable to break into Xavi's strongest XI for the majority of this season, two years after inheriting the prestigious No. 10 jersey at the Blaugrana following Lionel Messi's exit in 2021.
Bori Fati, the player's dad, is believed to have assured the club during a meeting this week that his son wants to continue at the Camp Nou but under improved circumstances, amid rumours of interest from teams across Europe.
In a recent interview, Fati's father questioned his son's lack of playing time and suggested that the player is doing everything he can to work his way back into Xavi Hernandez's plans.
"Ask Xavi why he's not playing Ansu. I don't have any answer. Xavi wants him to work hard, and he is. I feel disappointed as a father," he told COPE.
"I just say: Give him an opportunity. Should we forget about Ansu Fati now?
"We deserve more, Ansu is Barca's No. 10. He was playing a lot when Messi, [Luis] Suarez and [Antoine] Griezmann were at Barca.
"I'm disappointed because Ansu is the No. 10, is your top player, and he just gets 1, 2, 3 minutes. This disappoints me."
Manchester United, Chelsea and Liverpool have all reportedly expressed interest in the 20-year-old, who was born in Guinea-Bissau but has represented Spain at the highest level.
The winger's family are rumoured to feel that Xavi's treatment of the youth academy product has been nothing short of unfair and that the player might be left with no choice but to leave if it continues.
