Cape Town City's player took some time off to catch some afternoon cricket action at the Newlands Cricket Ground to support MI Cape Town in the SA20 competition.
The Citizens and coach Eric Tinkler enjoyed some hard-hitting action on the day, and Tinkler was almost struck by the ball during an interview on the boundary.

CTC enjoy some cricket action!
DStv Premiership outfit Cape Town City went to support MI Cape Town in their SA20 game against the Sunrisers Eastern Cape at Newlands Cricket Ground yesterday.
The Citizens, accompanied by Tinkler and staff had a perfect view of the action at the picturesque Newlands, dressed in MI Cape Town supporters tops and SA20 bucket hats.

In one of the funnier moments on the day, coach Eric Tinkler was being interviewed by SuperSport presenter Zainab Abbas when a fielder came crashing through to try and save the ball from the boundary, which subsequently floored the presenter and Tinkler coming inches away from being hit by the ball:
Overall it seemed like a fun day out for the Cape Town City players, with a number of them posting Instagram stories, taking selfies and trying to figure out the rules of the sport.
Darren Keet and Taariq Fielies were interviewed by SA20's Instagram page, with the former revealing that he played cricket growing up and is willing to be loaned out to MI Cape Town to help them back to winning ways:
Fielies revealed that he's a big fan of the shortest format of cricket and that it'll be good for his club and MI Cape Town to form a relationship that should see the cricket outfit come through and cheer on the Citizens in the DStv Premiership:
