'Ronaldo's Future Is In Saudi Arabia'

Cristiano Ronaldo

Cristiano Ronaldo will go to Saudi Arabia after his FIFA World Cup campaign concludes to sign for his new club, according to a new report.

Official: Portugal FA Release Ronaldo Statement

Earlier this week, it was claimed the five-time Ballon d'Or winner would call time on his career in European football and sign with Saudi Arabian club Al Nassr on a two-and-a-half-year deal.

While the 37-year-old has denied that his arrival in the Arabic nation is a foregone conclusion, Marca journalist Jose Felix Diaz has now reported that an agreement is in place for the football icon to fly to Riyadh to sign his contract after his World Cup with A Selecao reaches its end.

"Cristiano Ronaldo is spending his last days in the World Cup, Portugal is still alive but he is very aware of his future and his future is in Saudi football," the journalist told Goal.

"The agreement with the Arab team is total and absolute. Now it is necessary to sign it, to get there, to see what the club is and decide to sign.

"It is a team that is trying to grow, to recover the dominance in Saudi football, which it lately has not had.

"The contract is two and a half years. He will be paid for playing and a lot of money for advertising, that's the link you're going to have.

"If nothing changes soon, once his complicated period is over, he will participate in the World Cup, go to Riyadh and sign his commitment, not to mediate a very abrupt change in what is already an agreement."

Pele Responds To Mbappe Breaking His WC Record

The Portuguese superstar has endured a tumultuous few weeks as he currently finds himself clubless after his explosive interview with Piers Morgan.

With Ronaldo and Manchester United deciding to mutually terminate his contract thereafter, the football icon is now seemingly set to join Al Nassr from January 2023.

This would draw the curtain on what has been a successful European career playing for Sporting Lisbon, United, Real Madrid and Juventus.
