The mentor of Orlando Pirates star Monnapule Saleng has set the record straight on what the winger said about the chance he had to join rivals, Kaizer Chiefs.
Saleng, who has been one of the in-form players for the Buccaneers after scoring five goals from eight matches so far this season, is currently in camp with Bafana Bafana for the upcoming two international friendlies against Mozambique and Angola.

In an interview with SAFA media, the 24-year-old said he could have joined Amakhosi after he was scouted while still at Free State Stars.
However, the player's mentor Pogiso Makhoye, who has been involved in the player's development and movements since his days at Orbit College FC, has dismissed the Chiefs talk.
"Look, the reports that Monnapule Saleng could have gone to Chiefs are not accurate. In fact, I can go as far as saying it's a lie. I hear that there is an interview that the boy did where the Chiefs topic came up, but I can confirm that what was said was not accurate. I have been involved in the player's movements, but he was never close to joining Chiefs, that I can confirm. That's why I say it's a lie. Someone must have mentioned that to the boy just for attention but I knew nothing about it," said Makhoye.
