Messi, Neymar & Mbappe Leads PSG To Comeback Win

Messi, Neymar & Mbappe Leads PSG To Comeback Win

Lionel Messi, Neymar and Kylian Mbappe were all on target as Paris Saint-Germain defeated Troyes in a seven-goal thriller on Saturday evening.

Ligue 1

Result: Paris Saint-Germain 4-3 Troyes

Date: 29 October 2022

Venue: Parc des Princes

Prensel Kimpembe, Nordi Mukiele, Marco Verratti and Carlos were recalled by PSG coach Christophe Galtier after the midway UEFA Champions League action.

The hosts were stunned into silence after just three minutes when Mama Balde opened the scoring by turning home a lovely from Rony Lopes.

Troyes could have added a second goal in the 10th minute as Lopes turned provider once again to pick out Balde in the box, but the striker steered his header wide of the mark.

PSG managed to get back on level terms when Soler opened his account for the campaign after latching onto Neymar's pass before rounding the Troyes goalkeeper before slotting into an empty net.

The hosts continued to press for go-ahead goal in the closing stages of the first half but Troyes goalkeeper Gauthier Gallon did well to deny Mukiele and Lionel Messi.

Troyes began the second half in similar fashion to the first, with Balde getting his second goal of the game by showing good control before firing past Gianluigi Donnarumma.

PSG weren't behind for too long as Messi brought PSG level a minute later as the Argentine collected a pass from Sergio Ramos before sending a fine curling finish past Gallon.

The turnaround was complete on 62 minutes when Messi turned provider and found the run of Neymar, who rifled the ball past a helpless Gallon to continue to his fine start to the season.

With 13 minutes to go, PSG were awarded a penalty after Soler had been brought down by Gallon, which allowed Mbappe to get his name on the scoresheet by converting from 12 yards out.

Ante Palaversa did set up a nervy finish when he got Troyes' third goal in the 88th minute after being set up by Renaud Ripart.

However, PSG were able to hold out until the final whistle to claim maximum points and cement top spot for another week.
