Messi, Neymar & Mbappe Helps Ruthless PSG Qualify For Last 16

Messi, Neymar & Mbappe Helps Ruthless PSG Qualify For Last 16

Group F

Paris Saint-Germain 7-2 Maccabi Haifa

Paris Saint-Germain advanced the knockout stage after thrashing Maccabi Haifa 7-2 in the French capital on Wednesday night.

It was a rampant first half from the home side as Lionel Messi bagged a brace, before the Argentine set up Neymar for his goal while Kylian Mbappe also got off the mark.

Abdoulaye Seck did reduce the deficit with a goal in each for Maccabi, but another strike from Mbappe, an own goal from Sean Goldberg and Carlos Soler's effort rounded off an emphatic win for PSG.

PSG can secure top spot in their final group game against Juventus next week.

Benfica 4-3 Juventus

Juventus have failed to qualify for the knockout rounds after losing 4-3 to Benfica, who have booked their spot in the round of 16.

Antonio Silva put Benfica ahead on 17 minutes before Dusan Vlahovic restored parity four minutes later.

However, the Portuguese side took over as Joao Mario converted a penalty on 28 minutes while Rafa added to the advantage with two goals of his own.

Arkadiusz Milik and Weston McKennie did reduce the lead to 4-3, but the Portuguese giants held on and booked their spot in the next round.

Group E

Red Bull Salzburg 2-1 Chelsea

Chelsea advanced to the last 16 after defeating Red Bull Salzburg 2-1 at the Red Bull Arena.

Mateo Kovavic opened the scoring for the Blues in the 23rd minute, before Junior Adamu restored parity for the home side shortly after the break.

Kai Havertz got the winning goal for the Premier League side with a lovely strike from the edge of the box to send the side to the knockout stages.

AC Milan 4-0 Dinamo Zagreb

AC Milan moved up to second spot in the group after thrashing Dinamo Zagreb 4-0 at San Siro.

The Serie A side broke the deadlock six minutes before the halftime break when Matteo Gabbia opened his account for the season.

Rafael Leao doubled the lead on 50 minutes before Olivier Giroud added the third goal from the penalty spot, while Robert Ljubicic's own goal gave the visitors a fourth goal with 20 minutes left on the clock.

Group F

RB Leipzig 2-3 Real Madrid

Real Madrid suffered their first defeat in all competitions this season after going down 3-1 to RB Leipzig

The hosts raced into a two-goal lead in the opening 20 minutes, with Joško Gvardiol and Christopher Nkunku finding the back of the net.

Vinicius Junior did pull a goal back for Los Blancos on the stroke of halftime.

However, Timo Werner added a third goal for Leipzig on 81 minutes while Rodrygo's 94th minute strike proved to be too late.

Celtic 1-1 Shakhtar Donetsk

Shakhtar Donetsk's knockout stage hopes were dented after drawing 1-1 with Celtic.

The Scottish champions broke the deadlock ten minutes before the halftime break thanks to Giorgos Giakoumakis' finish.

Mykhaylo Mudryk did get Shakhtar back on level terms in the second half but they were unable to find a winner and now sit in third spot with one game to go.

Group G

Borussia Dortmund 0-0 Manchester City

Manchester City sealed their spot in the round of 16 as group winners after drawing 0-0 with Borussia Dortmund.

After a goalless first half, City were awarded a penalty 10 minutes into the break but Riyad Mahrez was unable to profit from 12 yards out.

The miss would not come back to haunt City as the two sides settled for a share of spoils and seal their spots in the knockout stage.

Sevilla  3-0 FC Copenhagen

Sevilla kept their last 16 hopes alive with a 3-0 win over bottom-placed FC Copenhagen.

After a scoreless first half, Youssef En-Nesyri, Isco and Gonzalo Montiel found the back of the net for the Spanish side.

Copenhagen, meanwhile, finished the game with ten men after Davit Khocholava was shown a straight red in second-half stoppage time.
