Masilela: Chiefs Don't Have To Score In The First 15 Minutes

Former Kaizer Chiefs and AmaZulu left back Tsepo Masilela has explained why he hopes Usuthu can go all the way in the MTN8.

Following a 1-1 draw in the first leg at FNB Stadium early in October and they are set for another meeting on Sunday at Moses Mabhida Stadium, with Masilela believing that hosts Usuthu have a slight advantage going into the clash.

Masilela won the MTN8 as a Chiefs player but is hoping that his former teammates at Usuthu can get an opportunity to get their hands on the trophy.

He feels AmaZulu have a slight advantage going into the second leg, due to the away goal they scored

"It will be a tough game. AmaZulu have that slight advantage, with the away goal. It depends on how they approach the game. Do they close the back door and hope for a goalless draw and go through? Or do they go at Chiefs, knowing that Chiefs will want to score? If you want to score and you are desperate to score, then you take risks by committing bodies forward and they can capitalize. It will be an interesting game to see and how the coaches will approach it tactically," Masilela said earlier this week during the Carling Black Label Cup press conference in Johannesburg.

"Chiefs don't have to score in the first 15 minutes. They can score in the last 10 minutes, or you can score just before half-time. The result in Joburg set up the game to be very interesting. We will see. I would love to see AmaZulu also win a trophy, for the guys I've shared a change room with. I know the guys and we still talk. Guys like George, Keagan, Rama, Majoro...it will be nice for them to win."
