Manchester United returned to winning ways in the Premier League with a 2-0 win over Tottenham Hotspur at Old Trafford.

Liverpool made it back-to-back wins in the Premier League with a 1-0 victory over West Ham United.

Darwin Nunez opened the scoring for the Reds in the 22nd minute with his first goal at Anfield after nodding home Konstantinos Tsimikas.

West Ham were awarded a penalty on the stroke of halftime, but Jarrod Bowen saw his spot-kick saved by Alisson Becker as the Reds held on for the win.

Brentford 0-0 Chelsea

Chelsea and Brentford could not be separated after playing to a goalless draw on Wednesday night.

The Blues remain in fourth spot but are only one point ahead of Man United, who they face on Saturday evening.

Newcastle United 1-0 Everton

Newcastle United returned to winning ways in the league after defeating Everton 1-0 at St James' Park on Wednesday night.

Miguel Almiron got the game's only goal for the Magpies in the 31st minute after being set up by Bruno Guimaraes.

Bournemouth 0-1 Southampton

Southampton ended their run of five games without a win after defeating Bournemouth 1-0 on Wednesday night.
