Were This Season’s Big-Name Signings A Success?

With the upcoming transfer window looking to be one of the hottest in history, we took a look back how last season’s big-money signings performed?

Luis Suarez – Liverpool To Barcelona For £71 Million

The Uruguayan got off to a slow start with the Spanish giants, after his four-month ban for his bite on Giorgio Chiellini at the 2014 World Cup. Since his debut in October, Suarez has done brilliantly, having scored 24 goals from 40 games, along with 21 assists.

James Rodriguez – Monaco To Real Madrid For £70 Million

The Colombian has looked the perfect fit in the Real squad, but perhaps hasn’t quiet recaptured his World Cup form which got earned him the move. James has played 43 games for Los Blancos so far, scoring 16 goals and assisting a further 15 times.

Angel Di Maria – Real Madrid To Manchester United For £66 Million

The Argentine has had a poor start to life in England thus far, after the Red Devils spent the most in their history for a player. Di Maria has featured 32 times for Man Utd this season, and has only scored four goals, and provided 12 assists – money badly spent.

David Luiz – Chelsea To Paris Saint-Germain For £43 Million

I’m still on the fence with this transfer, as although he’s done reasonably well in a good PSG side, I don’t feel he was worth the money spent on him. Luiz has played 42 games so far this season, and has scored five goals.

Alexis Sanchez – Barcelona To Arsenal For £37 Million

Personally, I believe that Sanchez was the best value-for-money transfer of the season. His return of 24 goals from 48 games is remarkable, but it’s his worth-ethic and pitbull approach that has impressed me the most.

Let me know who you believe was the best transfer of the season!

Thanks guys.

Kurt.
