Former Sundowns midfielder, Ernest Mtawali, believes that Themba Zwane is a gifted player who has yet to reach his full potential. Find out why he believes the Sundowns midfielder still has a lot more to offer both his club and country.
Soccer Laduma: Ernest, how do you see Themba Zwane as a player at Mamelodi Sundowns?
Ernest Mtawali:He is a very talented player, but I don't think he has reached his full potential yet. At times he is shy to express himself and show all his talent, but he is one of the most talented players in the PSL.
SL: Do you think he has established himself well at Sundowns so far?
EM:I don't think he has. He hasn't been playing enough for me to say he has established himself. If he can be given more game-time, people will see how good he is. He hasn't reached his full potential yet.
SL: Is it because of the competition in the team, or what?
EM:You know Sundowns is a big team and at times it takes time for someone to establish themselves. But, with him, he is still young so he can still learn, improve his game and become a great player at the team.
SL: What do you think he should do to establish himself at the team?
EM:Be patient. He has to be patient. There are not many people who just come to Sundowns and hit it off from the first game. He has to be patient and keep on working hard. Then he can become one of the team's best.
SL: Thank you for your time, sir.
EM:Sharp, boss.
