Agent Mike Makaab has revealed that clubs outside of the country are showing interest in former Mamelodi Sundowns head coach Manqoba Mngqithi.

Mngqithi left Sundowns in November, a few months after he was appointed head coach, and has not been in a rush to return to the coaching seat, despite reported interest from local clubs.

Makaab revealed that there are clubs from North Africa and the Middle East that are showing interest in the coach, though there is nothing concrete as yet. As previously mentioned, Mngqithi is looking to join a club where the project is right for him.

"We've had quite a lot of interest from clubs in North Africa and the Middle-East. We are biding our time purely because it's the project that's important. If he commits to a club, it's got to be a project that he can get stuck into," Makaab said to the Siya crew.

"He was at Sundowns for 11 years and during that period there was a lot of interest in him. The bottom line is that he was happy with the project, whether he was head coach or assistant coach. That's the character we are talking about, he added.

Mngqithi could look into taking on a project at the start of next season, which would allow him to have a pre-season and properly prepare for the campaign.
