What up guys and girls, hope all is good on your side. Here at the Soccer Laduma offices we are putting together the final touches to this week’s Siyagobhoza as the production team prepares to submit edition 887 to the printers.
Friday can not come fast enough, and not for anything but the fact that I want to see our new-look Bafana Bafana outfit in action. It will be coach Shakes Mashaba’s first outing in charge, following his re-appointment, with South Africa taking on Sudan in an Afcon qualifier.
While a lot has been said about Mashaba’s selections, I am backing the man and trust that he has a plan in place. Not to get into details of players that were excluded, there are a number of players that are raising their hand, which I expect will play a part in the national team in the future.
Amongst the players that are on fire at the moment, who are not part of the Bafana set-up, include May Mahlangu, George Maluleka and Kermit Erasmus.
Erasmus has set the league alight of late and much of Orlando Pirates’ rich vein of form can be attributed to him. With three goals in his last two league games, the 24-year-old is living up to expectations!
If he continues with this form, surely coach Mashaba cannot ignore his efforts and will rope him into the squad. Based on the start of the season, who would you like to see added to the squad in the upcoming international fixtures?
Oh yes, tomorrow there will be some exclusive content to look forward to here in Supporters Club. There will be an interview with a top South African agent who talks about the transfer window that has just passed and gives his opinion on some of the big moves that have happened. Don't miss it!
Cheers
Eddie
