The Brazilian is still in hot water over his transfer from Santos to the Catalan giants and a judge in one of the cases has now decided to include his mother, Nadine Goncalves da Silva Santos.

Neymar's mother will have to stand trial in a case that Brazilian company DIS has opened against Santos, Barcelona and the Neymar family.

The judge argued that Ms Santos is just as accountable as the Barcelona star's father because she owns 50% of the family business.

A statement from DIS reads:

"There is evidence that the mother of the footballer had a role in proceedings, in view of the fact that she owns a 50% stake in the company 'NN' and said company was created just prior to the agreements in which it was stated that €10 million would be paid into it."

DIS, which owned 40% of Neymar's rights when he was at Santos, alleges they were paid less than half of what they were entitled to when he signed for the Spanish giants.

The company opened a case after learning that Neymar's overall transfer fee was about €83 million – Barcelona initially announced a transfer fee of only €25 million.
