Former Hapoel Tel Aviv and Maritzburg United defender Siyanda Xulu could be set for a surprise new club, the Siya crew has been informed.
Xulu, 30, has been a free agent since parting ways with his Israeli club back in March this year.
He spent a brief period training with AmaZulu for the sole purpose of keeping fit, despite murmurs in the media of a possible move to Usuthu.
Now, the latest news reaching the Siya crew is that Xulu has jetted out of the country to begin a new adventure in Azerbaijan.
Siya sources have informed the crew that there were a number of decent offers locally on the table for the Bafana Bafana defender, but it appears that the defender has prioritized a move abroad instead.
What this means is that Xulu's national team spot could potentially be in jeopardy.
The defender has been a regular fixture for coach Hugo Broos and was selected as part of his squad that took on France and Guinea in March, despite being without a club at the time.
Now, with Xulu moving further into the periphery of the national team selectors, it remains to be seen whether he continues to form part of Broos' squad.
The Siya crew are yet to determine the exact details and club for which Xulu is set to sign but will keep you up to date with the latest once he is announced at his new club
