Chippa United head coach Lehlohonolo Seema says it will be to his side's detriment if they go into their midweek clash against Orlando Pirates thinking that their opponents are still hungover from their MTN8 win this past weekend.

The Buccaneers ended their six-year trophy drought at the Moses Mabhida Stadium on Saturday against Seema's former side Bloemfontein Celtic.

Seema, who captained the Buccaneers during his playing days, says his former team still remains a dangerous entity and could cause damage to the Chilli Boys if they are lethargic in their approach to the match on Wednesday.

"That will be suicidal for us to think Pirates are cup hungover," Seema told the media ahead of the match.

"I'm sure immediately when they left Durban it was water under the bridge for them, as much as they went a long time without the cup," he said.

Another challenge for the 45-year-old coach is planning for the Buccaneers, who can field a different starting XI at any given time, thanks to their abundance of talent in their star-studded squad.

"With the quality that Pirates have got, you don't even know who to expect on the field of play. It's difficult to plan against them with all the quality they have.

"We have to make sure that we do not take anything for granted, we don't become complacent and expect a very difficult game from the MTN8 champions, congratulations to them and tough luck to Bloemfontein Celtic, but we are fully aware of the danger that they pose, because they have quality,"  Seema added.

Chippa United will be hoping to pick up just their second win of the campaign when they take on the Buccaneers at the Orlando Stadium on Wednesday. The match is scheduled for kick off at 19:30.
