As per The Times, Belgium international Hazard is apparently refusing to sign a new Chelsea contract in the hopes of attracting interest from Real Madrid. The winger is not the only Blues star doing so, though, with goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois said to be employing the same tactic.
France international Umtiti's reasoning for stalling talks has reportedly got to do with him wanting an improved deal at the Camp Nou. The centre back apparently wants a better wage and is willing to leave the club if offered one elsewhere. The former Lyon star has been linked with Manchester United in recent months, and it is believed that the Red Devils are willing to give him the salary he desires, according to the Daily Mirror.
Another defender who is said to be stalling contract negotiations is Belgian star Toby Alderweireld. The 29-year-old is demanding a pay increase, which Spurs apparently do not agree with right now. The former LaLiga star's contract with the North London club only expires in 2019, but could be looking to leave the club sooner if he does not get his way.
