Current Roma manager Paulo Fonseca has broken his silence on the news that Jose Mourinho will replace him next season.
Bale Throws More Jabs At Mourinho?
On Tuesday, the Italian club announced that Fonseca would be replaced by the former Tottenham Hotspur boss at the end of the current campaign.
The news caught many off guard, especially considering Mourinho had found a new job so soon after he was relieved of his duties in north London.
With Fonseca still in charge for now and with Roma set to take on Manchester United in the second leg of their UEFA Europa League semi-final on Thursday night, he has now insisted he will continue to do his best for the club, and added that he is certain Mourinho will succeed in the position.
"For me, professionalism is something I believe is very important," he said, according to Goal.
"I am OK, I am focused on things here just like I was the very first day I got here.
"I am motivated. I want to do the best I can for Roma for as long as I am still here.
"Mourinho is a great coach, everyone knows that, and I am sure he will do a great job here."
