The PSL has confirmed that the 2014/15 Absa Premiership champions will be handed their new trophy on May 9th, with Kaizer Chiefs the likely recipients.
Chiefs need just three more points from their last four games in order to clinch the 2014/15 title, something that they could do tomorrow evening if they manage to beat Polokwane City.
However, even if the Amakhosi win the title this week, they will have to wait until their last game of the season, against Chippa United, to get their hands on their new piece of silverware.
A statement from Brand de Villiers said, "The PSL, in consultation with our sponsors, Absa, have decided to hand over the trophy at the last fixture of the club that will emerge as champions of the Absa Premiership on 09 May 2015.
"This means that even if a club has mathematically won the Absa Premiership before Saturday, 09 May 2015, they will not be handed the trophy until their last match."
