The inaugural Thabo Matlaba Rural Development Games in Senita Village, Limpopo, reached their finale on Tuesday, 30 December 2014, with the Champions being crowned after 16 days of competition.

The final was contested between Dinoko FC and Mushi Ocean Swallows FC, with Dinoko eventually overcoming their opponents by a single goal to be crowned the champions of the inaugural tournament.
Dinoko were handed their gold championship medals along with a trophy and a handsome cheque of R50 000, whilst Swallows were awarded the runners up medals and a cheque for R20 000.

The overall success and reception of the tournament gave Matlaba every reason to celebrate even further after the Orlando Pirates star was named in the final Bafana Bafana 23-man squad for the 2015 CAF African Cup of Nations which starts in January.
