Stuart Baxter's Son Trained With The Kaizer Chiefs First Team Last Week

Sean Baxter, the 19-year-old son of Kaizer Chiefs head coach, Stuart, trained with the club's first team last week in order to bring in 'extra bodies' during James Keene's trial.

Baxter Jnr. and a fellow youngster from Sweden, Max Rosen, are both promising 19-year-old footballers who have been training with the Amakhosi's youth academy of late as they continue their development.

However, eyes were raised when the two young players were spotted at Naturena with the first team prior to the Nedbank Cup clash with Black Leopards, with questions being asked as to who the two new faces were.

Baxter played down the presence of his son and Rosen, explaining that they were there to make up numbers as a few senior players were doing recovery so that Keene could be assessed in a game environment.

The Chiefs head coach said, "They're both training with our academy team at the moment, and with James Keene there for a short period, we wanted to have a bigger game and called them both in to be extra bodies."

Both players are not regulars at Chiefs' first team training, and their presence last week should be seen as a once-off rather than a sign of things to come.
