Sinky Mnisi Prepared To Go Legal Route In Light Of Highlands Park's Sale

After the Siya crew broke the news that Highlands Park has been sold to TS Galaxy chairman Tim Sukazi, it has now been revealed that minority shareholder Sinki Mnisi is taking the legal route to dispute the sale.

The Siya crew reported three weeks ago that the Highlands hierarchy had plans to settle on R30-million as the value of their top-flight status, which would exclude at least two of their big name players in Peter Shalulile and Mothobi Mvala from the deal, in the hope that they would be able to make up their valuation of R60-million for the franchise.

However, the current market, which has hit clubs hard financially and is a major contributing factor to the sale, suggests that it will be challenging to sell Mvala and Shalulile for over R10 million each – that all depends on the potential buyer.

Mnisi, who is a minority shareholder in the Tembisa outfit with a 20% stake, has subsequently confirmed that he is against the sale of the club.

Brad Kaftel, the majority shareholder of the club, is said to have bought both Mnisi and Larry Brookstone out of their stake in the club, before selling it. However, this has been refuted by Mnisi.

"You need to ask Brad Kaftel about that. You need to show me where I have signed. I know nothing about me being bought out by anyone at Highlands Park," Mnisi told the Siya crew at the time.

The latest is that the former Tembisa Classic owner is taking legal action against the club and has directed all communication to his lawyer.

"My lawyer is the one who will comment. I don't want to comment now," an irate Mnisi said speaking to the Siya crew.
