Maritzburg United are on the verge of signing ABC Motsepe League side, Diphiri FC's attacking midfielder, Sheldon Van Wyk.
According to a Siya source close to Maritzburg, the 20-year-old was training with the Team of Choice, and managed to convince Steve Komphela and his technical team to offer him a contract.
"Now all that is left is for him and Maritzburg is to agree on terms of the contract, and for him to sign the contract," said the source.
Van Wyk's representative, Abel Shongwe, co-director at AbelSam Sports Management, confirmed to the crew that he is talking to Maritzburg about the player's services.
"Yes, we're talking to Maritzburg and the talks are progressing well. Hopefully, we will conclude the deal soon," commented Shongwe.
The Siya will monitor the contract talks between Shongwe and Maritzburg and update you as soon as the deal is done.
