After announcing the appointment of Ephraim 'Shakes' Mashaba as the new Bafana coach, SAFA president Danny Jordaan said the decision was a unanimous one.
Jordaan said that all NEC members had agreed on Mashaba, after the technical committee had given them two names to choose from, Mashaba and another former Bafana Bafana coach, Carlos Queiroz.
Jordaan also stated that Mashaba would first complete his duties with the national U20 team.
He is currently with the Amajita squad on a West African tour, preparing them for a vital qualifier against Cameroon.
"This was a unanimous decision by the NEC to appoint Shakes Mashaba," said Jordaan at the press conference.
"There were two names left from the more than 16 applicants submitted to the Technical Committee, Shakes Mashaba and Carlos Queiroz, and the NEC unanimously went for Shakes."
