The Premier Soccer League has released the Soweto derby dates along with the rest of the fixtures for the 2014/15 Absa Premiership season.
In the first round, Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs will be doing battle on November 1, in what is considered one of the most anticipated football matches in the country, watched by a sizeable global audience. It will be a home game for Bucs, with the corresponding fixture taking place on March 7, a stage of the season that is considered the business end.
Defending league champions Mamelodi Sundowns face an early season trip to Cape Town to face Ajax Cape Town on August 13, while they take on the Amakhosi on November 22 in their first round-tie, away from home. Also on August 13, Bucs visit the tricky Bloemfontein Celtic, where they should find life tough at Seisa Ramabodu Stadium.
The last round of games, which have always proven to be tightly-contested affairs in the last couple of seasons, will be happening on May 9. On the day, Chiefs will be locking horns with Chippa United at Mbombela Stadium, while Vladimir Vermezovic's men will be in Cape Town fighting it out with the Urban Warriors. Sundowns will end of the season with a Tshwane derby duel against University of Pretoria.
