According to a statement released by the PSL, over 33 000 tickets for the Nedbank Cup final were sold within the first 36 hours of them going on sale.
The final, between Kaizer Chiefs and SuperSport United, will take place on May 25 at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban at 15:00.
Cambridge Mokanyane, the acting CEO of the PSL, said in the statement, "The response from the public has been overwhelming. In 24 hours, we had sold over 15 000 and we have doubled that number in 48 hours. This game is likely to be sold out in the next day or so. I urge people to purchase their tickets now."
Chiefs are likely to be aiming for their second trophy of the year should they claim the league title tonight, while Matsatsantsa will be eager to retain the trophy which they won last season.
Tickets are available at Computicket and Shoprite Checkers stores nationwide. They can be purchased at R60 and R40. Hospitality tickets for the game can be purchased at the Moses Mabhida Stadium.
