Namibia Through, Kenya Salvage Draw

Namibia Through, Kenya Salvage Draw

Namibia was the first team to progress from the group stages of the Cosafa Cup in Namibia when they thumped the Seychelles 4-2 and will meet Bafana Bafana in the quarter-finals.

The Brave Warriors had beaten Mauritius 2-1 in their opening match of their campaign and continued tucking away the goals against the Seychelles.

The islanders hit the front through Yves Zialor before Sydney Urikhob equalised. Zialor made it 2-1 but Nambia were level again through Ananaois Gebhardt.

From then it was the Brave Warriors who were in control as they took the lead for the first time after the interval with Gebhardt netting his second.

Neville Tjiueza completed the result in the dying minutes with a fourth for the Namibians.

In the other match of the day, Kenya had to battle back from two goals down to salvage a draw against Lesotho.

The Harambee Stars fell behind after Mokhahlane Ralekoti struck from the spot and Thapelo Tale added a second on a counter-attack.

Lesotho looked like they would cause an upset but the Kenyans hit back with two goals in the final six minutes to earn a share of the spoils.

Paul Muigai buried a header in the 84th minute before a late penalty from Jockins Atudo made it 2-2.
