May Mahlangu finally made his debut for his new club IFK Goteborg on Thursday evening, after a long period out injured.
Mahlangu came on for the last fifteen minutes of Goteborg's 5-0 demolishing of Atvidaberg, and made an immediate impact, setting up Sam Larsson to score the club's fourth goal just three minutes after coming on.
Speaking to svenskafans.com, Mahlangu said, "It's a good feeling, I am happy to be back, and grateful to have the opportunity to play.
"I've been gone for nine months, not playing a match since July last year. It was nice, emotionally. It's hard to describe how it felt. It's nice to be back on the field again.
"I have not touched the ball in a long time, and practice and game are two different things. It felt pretty good, but you know you have to work a lot and to play the game requires a lot of me. "
"The coach gave me a free role and said that I would be playing behind Robin (Söder). I could go in and do what I wanted, I had fun out there."
Mahlangu's return to fitness will not be only be a boost for his club, but also for Bafana Bafana.
