While the 2022/23 season has just started, a coach at one of the DStv Premiership clubs has already lost his job.
After initially being suspended last month, Mpho Maleka has been dismissed from Marumo Gallants, the Siya crew can reveal.
As previously reported by the Siya crew, Maleka had been placed on suspension by the Limpopo outfit, although there had been no official word from the club or the mentor and football legend about it.
Maleka served as assistant and caretaker coach, respectively, during his time with the club and did well.
News reaching the Siya crew is that the parties have since gone their separate ways, with the club's new head coach Romain Folz now having only Raymond Mdaka as his assistant.
Contacted for comment, Maleka confirmed parting ways with the club this week.
"I'm in a good space, I'm relieved. It's time for next challenge. I would be worried if I felt bad but the fact that I'm happy is a sign of relief from the good job achieved and to move on," he said.
