Mahlangu Active In The Second Division

Former Benoni Premier United and Thanda Royal Zulu midfielder, July Mahlangu, is looking at taking on a career in coaching once he retires from professional football.

Mahlangu revealed to the Siya crew that he is still actively involved in the game, playing a role of player/coach. The 32-year-old is playing for Kwazi United in the SAFA Second Division.

"I am still playing. I am a player/coach in the Vodacom League (SAFA Second Division). I am grooming the young boys. I am working with Fana Sibiya in the technical team. I am a football person. I have spent the better part of my life involved in football.

"I don't see myself going somewhere else. Obviously, I've got quite a few other things that I'm doing. But my heart is with football. If opportunities come my way I would like to remain in football. I like being on the field.

"We've got Benoni Premier United that campaigns in the SAB League in Gauteng. We've got another status in the Second Division. The name of the club is Kwazi United. The team campaigns in Mpumalanga.

"We are taking care of both teams. On weekends we go our separate ways. We go to our games and the guys that play in the SAB League go to their games on their own," said Mahlangu.

Mahlangu's experience and passion for the game is promising to Mzansi's young talents, looking to make a name for themselves on the domestic football scene. His experience will, undoubtedly, go a long way in nurturing future stars.
