PSL veteran Lindokuhle Mbatha's agent has commented on the player's contract situation at TS Galaxy.
Mbatha has featured in 20 of the 26 matches for Galaxy so far this season, and although the team is still in the relegation dogfight, the former Mamelodi Sundowns player has been consistent with his fine performances under Sead Ramovic.
With the Newcastle-born player approaching his 37th birthday which he will celebrate on 25 June, and with the 2021/22 season nearing an end, concerns have been raised about the player's future as his contract will be up in two months' time.
When contacted by the Siya crew, Mbatha's representative Ratshibvumo Mulovhedzi of Rush Hour Sports Management has shed light into what could be expected.
"Yes, it's true that Lindokuhle Mbatha's contract with TS Galaxy will be coming to an end in June. But we should be careful in deciding what to happen next for him and manage the situation correctly because we are dealing with a veteran footballer here and are planning for his future," Mulovhedzi.
"I must add that TS Galaxy is still very happy with Mbatha's contribution to the team and in our planning, we are also waiting for the club to make their decision on the player. You may never know, the player might still get another contract there to finish his career at the club whereafter there might be even other opportunities at the club like coaching in the youth ranks and so on. But I should mention that there is interest in the player from other clubs, but we are in no rush to allow the player to focus on helping TS Galaxy to get out of their situation at the bottom of the log as that is what is important to him right now," added the intermediary.
