Lehlohonolo Seema Believes Bevan Fransman Is A Suitable Replacement For Clayton Daniels

Bevan Fransman
Newly signed defender, Bevan Fransman, is in line to succeed Clayton Daniels as new Bloemfontein Celtic captain ahead of the new season. Bloemfontein Celtic assistant coach, Lehlohonolo Seema, insists that newly signed defender, Bevan Fransman, has all the qualities to succeed departed Clayton Daniels as the club's new captain in the new season. "He is very experienced defender, having played for Bafana Bafana and will bring a lot of stability into our defence," said Seema. The 30-year-old has joined Phunya Sele Sele on a two -year deal and is expected to fill the void left by Daniels who has joined Supersport United. "I have not worked with him before, but he has all those leadership qualities to take that role, however there are a lot of players in the team who are also candidates to lead the club in the new season," Seema said. Fransman has also played for Kaizer Chiefs and Moroka Swallows in the PSL, and also had spells in Belgium and Israel. The lanky defender was the captain of United before he lost his place in the team. Seema, who captained Celtic and Orlando Pirates during his playing days, said Phunya Sele Sele coach, Ernest Middendorp, will be the one to make a decision on who captains the team in the new season.
Kaizer Chiefs will use their friendly match against Chippa United on Sunday, July 20, as preparation for the upcoming Carling Black Label Cup Soweto Derby final against Orlando Pirates on July 26. The newly-promoted Chilli Boys have also been hard at work in pre-season, and Kosta Papic's men will undoubtedly also gain great value from the clash. Chiefs are currently camping in Port Elizabeth as they also get ready for the hotly-anticipated 2014/15 campaign. The friendly against Chippa will take place at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in PE. The match seems a fitting spectacle to honour the late great statesman, Nelson Mandela - it falls just two days (July 18) after the international day (Mandela Day) held in honour of his life. Chiefs' website are reporting that the club will take some time away from their training preparations to undertake some volunteer work and community service as part of the celebrations to honour Madiba. Nonetheless, the clash with the NFD champions on Sunday will serve as a dress rehearsal for the Soweto Derby which is fast approaching in late July. For Chippa, the encounter with the Glamour Boys will be the first time they officially appear in a game in PE - the club recently made the 'Windy City' their home base after spending a number of years in Cape Town. The start time for the game against Chippa is 15h00. Tickets are reportedly on sale at Computicket outlets nationwide with adults being charged R40, and kids tickets selling for R20.
